If you read this, you are aware that I can speak decent nihon-go (Japanese Language). I started when I was 18 as a hobby, but now, it becomes my habit. Its not hard to learn Japanese, but not that easy. Well, with a little bit of effort, small amount of talent, a pinch of patience, a generous portion of determination mix with passion and will power, I'm sure you also can do it.
For the start, I will share with you a few basic word that can be used day in day out, in any circumstances. Remember, this is the most basic word. Later, you will find other word that have the same meaning. But right now, build your basis so that you have some idea if you hear any Japanese conversation.

Note that some of the word there is really hard to pronounce for the first timer. Here are some foot note on how to pronounce some of the syllable written in blue. (this note is suitable for Malays since Malay vowel sound a bit difference than English)
どう-"dou" is pronounced as 'dow' as in 'dodol' while ど-"do" is pronounced as 'do' as in dog. So, douitashimashite should be should be pronounced as do-ita.shimash.te, syllable by syllable.
し -"shi" is only pronounced as "sh" before syllable "t". like the word douitashimashite. Syllable "shi" in the blue part is only pronounced as 'sh'
どういたしまして - copy this in Google Translate and click on 'Listen' button to hear the pronunciation.
ん is actually 'n'. Just like "Wajibulghunnah" in tajwid, if there is 'b' after 'n', you have to make "dengung". Therefore, although the ruma-ji is 'n', it will become 'm' if the next syllable start with 'b'. Just like our Malaysian singer name, Man Bai. Therefore ganbatte can also be written as gambatte.
気をつけて ki o tsukete - This is probably the most hardest word for first timer. A simple trick is, just read it like Malay word. "ki o" can be pronounced as 'kiyo' or 'kiwo'. Most of the time, I hear people pronounce it as 'kiyo'. Just merge all the syllable together as pronounce it as 'kiyots.kete'. Try Google Translate to be sure
This is all I can manage for today. I wish I can have Japanese conversation more often than before. There was a friend who can talk decent Japanese with me last year. I miss that person.
